Every business starts with an idea, but Assist & Co started with a feeling.

Years ago, while balancing a full-time job, my family and I rallied together to support my nan through dementia. We took shifts, leaned on one another, and gave everything we had. Like so many families navigating care, we were exhausted, but you do whatever it takes for the people you love.

Still, through those long days and quiet moments, I couldn't help wondering: what if there was another way?

As wonderful and dedicated as professional carers can be, strict, time-crunched visits often leave very little room for simple, human connection. Between administering medication, preparing meals, and rushing through basic tasks, there was never time left over just to sit, listen, and simply be with her. I felt the immense weight our family carried, constantly torn between tackling the endless household chores and actually enjoying quality, peaceful moments together.

It became obvious that a vital piece was missing: the space between transactional cleaning services, rushed medical care, and the warm, flexible support real people need in everyday life.

That realisation became the foundation for everything we do today.

Driven by that experience, I completed my degree in Health and Care Management, determined to build a service that bridged the gap. Standing at my graduation at Central Hall Westminster, my nan felt closer than ever, and I knew exactly what path lay ahead. Assist & Co was created to be the trusted, extra pair of hands I wished had been there for my own family.
